- About Rick:
Rick Platt is President and CEO of the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority, a position he's held since 2002. During his tenure, the Port Authority has developed a reputation as a tech-savvy, government innovator and problem solver. The Port Authority has grown to become the largest self-sustaining port authority in Ohio and the fourth-largest overall among more than 50 port authorities in the state.
In a career that began with his first site selection project in 1988, Rick has worked on business development deals exceeding a combined $1 billion in capital investment and with companies such as Boeing, United Technologies, L Brands, Walmart, Heinz, Sterilite, Samuel & Sons, and Timken. Rick is active with the International Economic Development Council, Ohio Manufacturers Association, and the state, regional, and local levels of economic development, including serving as Chairman for the Grow Licking County CIC. He is active in the community serving as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and STEM Industry Committee Chairman for The Works science museum. He is an officer with the Rotary Club of Newark.
